In February, 2013, the Institute for Evidence-Based Change (IEBC) released Tuning American Higher Education: The Process. Tuning is the process that defines what students should know, understand, and be able to do upon completion of a degree in a given discipline or professional program. Tuning American Education: The Process is a guide developed from the experience gained in observing, facilitating, and debriefing groups who have engaged in Tuning initiatives throughout the U.S. It presents Tuning’s elements while reflecting the diverse experience of faculty in the different initiatives to date. Tuning USA, a division of IEBC, is funded by the William and Flora Hewlett Foundation and the Lumina Foundation.
